Thoosa Help

Connecting to Your Boat

This page explains how to hook Thoosa up to a data source, and what to enter for each kind of source.

Making the connection

  1. Open Settings ▸ Mode.
  2. Choose the kind of source and fill in its fields — see below.
  3. Turn the connection on, then return to the Instruments section: the values come alive as soon as data arrives.

What to enter, per source

Several connections at once

You are not limited to a single network connection: several can stay open simultaneously — the boat's navigation system and, at the same time, other devices broadcasting on the network, such as energy management systems (Victron GX, Mastervolt EasyView…) or some watermakers and air conditioners. Thoosa merges their data into one read-out.

Not going blank if the network drops

In Network mode, enable fall back to device: if the boat network drops, Thoosa keeps showing position and heading from the device's own sensors instead of freezing the display.

The fallback also brings in the device's barometer: you get atmospheric pressure even when the boat network has no pressure sensor at all.
