iCloud Sync

Thoosa keeps your logbook, library and settings in step across your devices using iCloud. This page explains how to turn it on and what to expect.

Turning sync on

There is nothing to configure inside Thoosa:

1. Sign each device in to the same Apple Account (in the system settings).
2. Open Thoosa: sync happens automatically in the background.

What syncs

• Your voyages and recorded fixes
• Your library of marks, routes and tracks
• Your app settings
• Your boat connections

The connections' authentication tokens (Signal K, Victron VRM…) are kept in the keychain — not in plain settings — and synced by iCloud Keychain too, so your other devices find their connections ready to use.

Offshore, without an internet connection

Sync is not required to use Thoosa: without a connection, everything keeps working locally. Changes sync by themselves the next time you have a network.
