Getting Started
This page walks you through the first launch: finding your way around the app, then getting your first live data.
Finding your way around
The toolbar switches between sections:
- Navigation — the chart, with the boat and your objects;
- Instruments — position, speed, heading, depth and wind, live;
- Logbook — the record of your voyages;
- Library — your marks, routes and tracks.

Expected screenshot: the home screen with the section toolbar at the top and the live instruments.
Getting live data
- Open Settings ▸ Mode and choose where your data comes from.
- Enter the connection details for that source.
- Return to the Instruments section — the values appear as soon as the connection is live.
If you have no boat network to hand, choose the This device source: Thoosa uses the device's own GPS, compass and barometer, with nothing to configure.
Going further
- Connecting to Your Boat — each source in detail.
- Reading the Instruments — true/magnetic headings, times.
- The Logbook — recording and printing your voyages.
- The Library — importing, exporting and sharing your objects.
